IIMK RESEARCH SEMINAR BY PROF. NILAY YAJNIK

Prof. Nilay Yajnik of  NMIMS Mumbai delivered a very interesting talk entitled "Global Virtual Teams and their Relevance in Management Education" at IIMK on 15th October. According to Prof.  Yajnik, working in Global Virtual Teams has now become a standard practice in several business organizations.
It is therefore very important for students in B-Schools to get some experience in working in large teams spread across the globe. A very innovative experiment, known as the “X-CultureInternational Student Collaboration Project”, of which Prof. Yajnik is one of the founder members, has been conducted over the past two years. This project involves nearly 6000 students from 80 Universities in 43 Countries across 6 continents working in large Global Virtual Teams as a part of their International Management curriculum. Professors from the participating Universities around the world were part of this project. A few interested Professors, including Prof. Yajnik, came together to develop a research paper on the effectiveness of this project as a teaching tool in business schools. The talk discussed the experience of the speaker in this innovative international student collaboration project.
